Lady GaGa says she’s thankful Christina Aguilera “copied” her look because it gave her publicity.
The singer, who is thought to be the inspiration behind Christina’s new ‘futuristic’ image, says she wouldn’t be as well known if it wasn’t for the star’s style choices.

She says: “Well, it was very flattering when it happened.

“She’s such a huge star and if anything I should send her flowers, because a lot of people in America didn’t know who I was until that whole thing happened. It really put me on the map in a way.”

But Christina said she had never heard of Lady GaGa when the concept for her look was created.

She said: “This person was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest.”

But Lady GaGa says there are “no hard feelings at all” with Christina and added that she’s just excited that fans recognised her style.

She told Digital Spy: “Even though I’ve only been on the commercial market for seven or eight months, I’ve really burned graphic images of my visuals onto the irises of my fans.

“They saw a huge, Grammy-winning star who’s been around for years and they recognised Lady GaGa. That to me is quite an accomplishment.”

Christina Aguilera has “a newfound respect” for her body after giving birth.

The ‘Dirrty’ singer - who welcomed son Max Liron, her first child with husband Jordan Bratman, into the world in January - was amazed at how much the female anatomy could endure during labour.

She said: “I really have a newfound respect for the female body after going through this process. I still have a way to go with losing the weight but I will start working out and boxing soon, but I’m not going to go crazy about it.”

Christina also revealed how she managed to lose her post-pregnancy pounds.

She added: “I had to really curb my love for junk food. And it’s not just about looking good. I don’t want to get heart disease or cancer. It’s important to take care of yourself - especially as a woman.”

Christina Aguilera has admitted that’s she’s a control freak.

‘I was raised in a very chaotic environment,’ she explains.

‘We were always moving from one place to another, my father being in the military, and you know, my mother leaving my father, going back and forth.

‘Nothing was ever quite stable or secure for me. So that might definitely have something to do with liking things done in order, in control and my way.

‘I’m a huge organisation freak. Everything is labelled and specified and there’s a place for it.’

Christina, 27, reckons music helped her to deal with her disjointed childhood.

‘As a very young girl there was a lot of domestic violence in the home,’ she tells The Observer Magazine.

‘So I think I just gravitated towards music as an escape.’

Christina is now happlly married to Jordan Bratman, 31, and is mum to 11-month-old son Max Liron.

Christina Aguilera has not been approached to design a new clothes range for the High Street store Topshop, Gigwise can exclusively reveal.

Media reports today (December 28th) claimed the singer was on the verge of signing a multi-million pound deal with owner Sir Phillip Green.

However, a spokesman for Topshop exclusively told Gigwise that the reports were “complete speculation”.

He added: “Topshop are not in discussion with any celebrity or artist to create new ranges for us.”

‘Focus on British designers’

The report in the Daily Mirror newspaper claimed Aguilera was being lined up to design a series of ranges in addition to supermodel Kate Moss.

Moss has reinvigorated Topshop’s sales since she began working on fashion lines for the company in May last year.

But Topshop’s spokesman, Andrew Leahy, said the retailer intended to “focus on working with the best of Britain’s emerging fashion designers.”

Aguilera has already released three fragrances and earlier this year inspired a jewelry range by designer Stephen Webster.

In August, similar reports linking former X Factor winner Leona Lewis to a new Topshop range were also denied by the store.

Christina Aguilera is reportedly close to signing a fashion deal with clothing chain TopShop. Owner Philip Green is so interested in the image reflected by the pop singer that he allegedly asks her to design a new collection for the label. Should the deal goes through, then Aguilera is expected to receive at least $ 1 million for her designs.

“Sir Philip Green, who owns Topshop, has started talks with Christina and hopes to sign a deal soon,” a source told Sunday’s Mirror. “She has visited his offices in London and they are thrashing out the details.”

Christina’s design however, will not replace Kate Moss’ and both of the stars will continue to do separate collection. The source added, “Philip loves her style and believes she would add something new to Topshop. Christina is the blonde bombshell who is into pop whereas Kate is the rock chick and model. She’d appeal to a younger shopper than Kate.”
